Welcome Home!!!

Well, it's been over two months since my last post, and as you can tell from the title of this post, we are moved in! We found another house in Lehi. We love it but it didn't come without its struggles.

We sold our contract to be out of our apartment in the middle of August. The bank said our closing date would be August 31st, so we decided to move into a week-to-week rental for that time. So we moved all of our stuff into storage and moved in. It's only for 3 weeks. How bad could it be?

Oh, it was bad!!! Everything reeked of smoke. It was awful! The room was a studio and was just tiny. What we thought would be 3 weeks ended up being 5 weeks. By the end, we were both completely stir crazy!

That brings me back to the closing. After the 31st wasn't going to happen, we thought it would be September 9th, a Friday, which left us the weekend to move and unpack. Perfect. But because the universe does not work in our favor or convenience, the closing date was moved...again...to Monday, September 12th. I took two days off of school to sign papers, get the house ready before we moved in and then to unpack after we moved everything in Monday night. Needless to say we are mostly unpacked. We have our appliances now...finally...two months after we bought them. After fixing leaky valves in the washer and dryer, we did laundry non-stop the first couple of days in order to get the smoke smell out of all of our clothes.

We love our new house. It has its quirks like light switch placement and basement layout but we are really happy to be here. It has three levels, bedrooms upstairs, living areas and kitchen on the main floor and laundry in the unfinished basement. My legs have definitely been getting a workout!

There are constantly new improvements. We changed the faucet in the kitchen one day, then put in curtains in the living room a couple of days later, and a list of home improvement projects a mile long. It is definitely keeping us busy. We have yet to hang anything on the walls but we are mostly unpacked. (except the sewing room. I have too much stuff and am not sure how best to organize it.)

And now, for the best house warming present ever! Tim and I bought a dog, a 9-week-old, female Jack Russell Terrier. She was the runt of the litter. We just love her. She is so cuddly and lovable. How can you resist this sweet face!
