A Day with My Dad

My dad came to Utah for work during his birthday week in February. His birthday was on Friday and on Saturday, I met him, Laura and Simon to go out to lunch and celebrate. We went to Wallaby's in Lindon. LOVE their potatoes! I gave my dad lemon drops since those are one of his favorite candies and we were each eating one at the restaurant when the owner/manager saw us and gave us a hard time for bringing outside food into the restaurant. When we told him it was my dad's birthday he said they usually give a complementary cobbler--not just any cobbler, a four berry cobbler. We each got a couple of bites, and boy, was it good!

After lunch we came to my house and waited for Brian to finish a meeting, played with Simon, talked and relaxed.

Then we went miniature golfing at Trafalga. They've recently painted the indoor course so it glows with a black light. The theme is now under the sea. There are sea turtles and whales on the wall. There is a pond in the middle of the course with real fish in it! It was so cool!

Simon helped his mom golf...sort of. Until he fell asleep. I guess that's what happens in a dark room. Laura and I tied...for last place. My dad won, with Brian in 2nd place. It's sad that we tied since halfway through Laura only played with one hand! If these were bowling scores instead of golf scores, we'd have kicked everyone's butt!

You can see how Laura golfed after Simon fell asleep.

Simon loved eating his carrier!

Golfing worked up our appetites, so my dad treated us to Arctic Circle because he gets a senior discount now. After dinner, we got dipped cones, and Simon went nuts! He would just stare at it! He didn't do that with the burgers or fries, but when the ice cream came out, he was drooling! Of course, I was the one teasing him with the ice cream. :)

I want it! I want it!
