A Visitor for Spring Break

Tim's friend from the online world came to visit for Spring Break. I was dubbed the official photographer and tried to document everything. I apparently didn't get everything since there are no pictures of him riding in the car, over at 2 different friends houses, etc.

Here are some of the things we did:

Dave arrived early Sunday morning and quickly got his computer out to play with Tim. His 2 hours of sleep caught up to him and he took a nap on our floor.

We went to Salt Lake for a day and walked around Temple Square, saw the Joseph Smith movie, and ate Lion House Pantry rolls.

We then went to Crown Burger to eat their yummy pastrami burgers.

Following our healthy lunch, we went to Sweet's Candy Factory for a tour. Everyone had to wear "candy maker hats", aka hair nets. Dave also had to wear a beard net. He was thrilled. The second the tour ended, he ripped them off. It took a very stern glare for him to put them back on long enough to take a picture.

After a long day of walking around, we went out that night for a round of mini golf. Blake and his fiance Hailey came with us. Apparently mini golf was a popular choice for a rainy night, and we all got stuck with short clubs. Afterwards, we had a hard time finding a place to get ice cream since everything closes at 10pm on a Wednesday night, and the one place that was open was stuffed to the brim! So we went to the store to make our own Root Beer floats (sorry, no picture of the float).

We took Dave to try as many Utah foods as possible. Tucano's was on the list. As always, we ate so much food! Here are Kyler and Dave sampling the buffalo wings.

On Friday, Dave and I made the windy drive to Park City to shop at the outlet mall. Who knew there is a guy out there in the world who actually likes to shop?!? I wanted to stop at Bridal Veil Falls but apparently it is closed until May 1st. We've been getting that a lot on his trip here. Nothing is open until May. So, if anyone is coming to Utah to visit and wants to see the sights, they should come in the dead of winter or the dead of summer.

We ended the trip on Friday night with some of my favorite things: the duck pond, JDawgs, BYU, and the temple. I didn't get a picture of Dave eating his JDawg. It had something to do with me being distracted by my own food. Either way, he was glad not to have his picture taken....again....while eating food.

As you can see by Dave's face, he was ready to relieve me of my job as official photographer. :)

Dave absolutely loved the mountains. Every time he went outside, he would comment on them. It was really rainy during his visit so they weren't visible all the time. At the end of the Provo Tour, Dave and Tim were debating which mountain is taller: Squaw Peak or Mt. Timpanogos. In case you were wondering, Squaw Peak is 8,400 feet above sea level, Mt Timp is 11, 749 feet above sea level. Tim won!

Any time we weren't doing anything touristy, this is what the guys would do. And they did this any spare second: first thing in the morning, between touristy things, before bedtime. In other words, ALL THE TIME!!
